Canada here we come

While Murphy and St Peter (the one that washers the floors of heaven and makes it rain on earth, I've mentioned him before in my blog) conspire against our trip to Montreal and Quebec for Barbi&Mark's wedding...

Milo is going to Tia Marília & Tio Mauri's house for a short summer holiday! His bag is twice as big as mine and he seems pretty happy and curious!

High Line Walk

They say the best of New York happens when you've been here for so many times that you get to know the unknown. Today, as our last day with Fê's parents, we walked around Chelsea and Meatpacking District, starting with a delicious glass of milk and waffles at the [RonnyBrook MilkBar] in Chelsea Market.

Later on we found a very nice and cute path, the [High Line]. It used to be an elevated freight rail structure (trilho de trem em uma via acima do nivel da rua) around the 1930s and now "it's design and plantings are based on the environment that grew naturally when trains stopped running on it". Instead of a piece of abandoned smelly land crowded by homeless, it is a beautiful well kept area to go for a walk. But Milo couldn't come, no dogs allowed.

Aussie Ladies Night

It is always nice to give a break to your routine and do something different. Last Tuesday I met some friends for a girls night out. It all started at a place called [Beauty Bar], where they offer good martinis and bad manicure for $10. I wasn't lucky and my nails looked like a 5-years old job, but we were there just for the fun of it.

Later on, we walked - taking a quick detour where one girl got the happiest shopping moment of her days in NYC - to a Thai restaurant, [SEA]. It was the best Thai I've ever had! We shared different dishes among us, each one picked one, so I can only remember I ordered a tofu fried rice, but we had some great dumplings, chicken, a seafood plate and noodles.

Before hitting the dance floor, we went to a [Karaoke]! The place had a great selection of anything you could imagine: from classic Karaoke songs to whatever is being played on the radio! We got our private room so no one was smashed by our American Idol moment.

Last, some dancing was involved, and that was the end of the night for me. Girls went out for another round of drinks, but I had to make my way home.

Online Bikini Purchase

When you think you did the un-imaginable using a computer, you figure you can do something extra: Buying a Brazilian bikini live. Yes, Fê's mom went to the Mall carrying her laptop and, thanks to wi-fi connection, I was able to choose from a great variety! I couldn't obviously try them on, but I'm sure one day that will be possible.
