Bronze sculptures

Ontem eu falei a seguinte frase:

"Mesmo morando por anos em NYC eu nunca sairei de casa sem uma máquina fotográfica."

E ainda bem. Saímos de casa e a 8th Avenue estava fechada por quase dez quarteirões para uma feira. Vendia-se de tudo, jóias e bijous, roupas, vitaminas, gyros, salsichas, enfim, click click. Andamos até o Central Park e lá fizemos uma linda caminhada indicada pelo livro "50 passeios pela cidade", passando pelo Strawberry Fields coberto por flores. Depois, entramos num metrô e fomos comer os cupcakes do [Magnolia Bakery] com nossos amigos Stacey e Sam. Pra quem não conhece, esses cupcakes ficaram famosos no Sex & The City, vizinhos a casa de uma das principais do show. Óbvio, pictures time!


Mas o principal motivo do post sobre nunca sair de casa sem uma máquina está no metrô. Na 14th Station tem umas estátuas engraçadas espalhadas pela estação que compõem uma exposição chamada [Life Underground]. Tem dois pés com 9 dedos, um crocodilo saindo de um bueiro, uns elefantes pequeninos e até umas orelhas nos postes. Tá com preguiça de ler sobre as estátuas? Tudo bem, só aproveite então o olhar da minha lente.

Yesterday, I said the following:

"Even if live for years in NYC, I will never leave the house without a camera."

And thank goodness! We left the house and 8th Avenue was closed for nearly 10 blocks for a market. Everything was being sold there, gems and jewelry, clothes, vitamins, gyros, hot dogs, in short, click click. We walked up to Central Park and there we took a beautiful path suggested by the book "50 walks in the city", passing Strawberry Fields covered by flowers. Then, we took the metro and went to have cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery with our friends Stacey and Sam. For those who aren't familiar, these cupcakes are famous from Sex & the City, neighboring the house of one of the main characters of the show. Obviously, picture time!

But the main reason for the post about never leaving the house without a camera is in the metro. At the 14th St. station, there are amusing statues/sculptures scattered throughout the station that are part of an exposition called Life Underground. There are two feet with 9 toes, a crocodile exiting a sewer, small elephants, and even ears on poles. Are you too tired to read about statues? Alright, just take a look through
